| Comments: | Master Brown takes the 'Miagi' approach to teaching a style that is typically a 'Cobra Kai' style. Tae Kwon Do, as he learned it, is a hard style and the students usually suffer for their art. Master Brown applies both rigor and compassion to his lessons. He and his staff compel students to work hard and put every ounce of strength behind each punch, each kick and each break. He has a teaching degree and the lessons are well-telegraphed. There are few questions, which leads to more time for practice and learning. The classes are run for physical, mental and spiritual training. He recommends books on martial arts (and life lessons). He hands out homework required for the next belt rank. He teaches breathing and meditation exercises in a well-rounded curriculum. I haven't seen any schools with this kind of vision. |
