Jujutsu
Kanji: Jujutsu
Meaning: The art of softness
Synopsis:

Jujutsu (also Jiu-Jitsu, Jujitsu...) began as a adjunct fighting system to complement the more traditional weapons systems arising from ancient Japan.  Although weapons remain a part of modern Jujutsu, it has become primarily known as an unarmed grappling art.  Strikes are, however, a major part of most Jujutsu systems.  Many modern Japanese Martial Arts are derived from Jujutsu.

Kobudo
Kanji: Kobudo
Meaning: Ancient warrior way
Synopsis:

Kobudo is a weapons art.  It is separate from Karate, but most Karate styles have an element of kobudo.  Weapons of kobudo are widely varied, but some of the more common are the Kama, Tonfa, Nunchaku, Bo, Eiku and Sai.
