  • Anatomy/Qigong: Pressure Points
    Elbow Applications

LIV3 - A very painful point when struck from above. It is below the surface and requires some penetration on the strike. Should render that foot useless. Anyone who's ever caught an elbow doing a roundhouse kick has an idea of how this feels.

Name - Taichong (supreme assault or great pouring)

Location - Between the metatarsal of the big and second toes halfway towards the ankle crease
    ---
PC1 - A very dangerous and painful point. This point can be sensitive even to the touch. This can be a good grappling control point, by digging in while grabbing the pectoral muscle.

    Name - Tianchi (heaven's pool)

Location - Just to the outside of the nipple, about 1 cun.

    Terminology
    Terminology

    Kihon - Basic
    Kun - Creed
    Tatsu - Dragon hand
    Ukemi - Falling technique
    Yasume - Relax

    TAO TEH CHING, Chapter 42
    Horses

    Tao gave birth to One,
    One gave birth to Two,
    Two gave birth to Three,
Three gave birth to all the myriad things.

All the myriad things carry the Yin on their backs and hold the Yang in their embrace,
Deriving their vital harmony from the proper blending of the two vital Breaths.

What is more loathed by men than to be "helpless," "little," and "worthless"?
And yet these are the very names the princes and barons call themselves.

    Truly, one may gain by losing;
And one may lose by gaining.

What another has taught let me repeat:
"A man of violence will come to a violent end."
Whoever said this can be my teacher and my father.

There are many ongoing projects on the Warrior Pages, one of which is "inlining the pronunciations." This makes the replay smother and is indicated by bolded, black text. Wherever you see these, you may click on them for pronunciations. All the new terms have them. You may still click on the "note" symbol, but these will be phased out. And while we would like all of our projects to be complete, remember, it's the journey that's important, not the destination.
