    Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

As the name suggests Brazilian jiu-jitsu is from Brazil. Notable progenitors and fervent practitioners of this style are the Gracie family, who also founded the Ultimate Fighting Championship to prove their worth, or rather Royce Gracie did.

But what less people know is that the style was developed by Carlos Gracie after he was taught a portion of original jiu-jitsu by a Japanese man, Maeda, but adapted it due to lack of physical strength. The outcome is a system revolving around groundwork and submissions, most notable of which are the chokes. The style, as such, is pretty recent; it was founded in the beginning of the 19th century.

    TAO TEH CHING, Chapter 61

A GREAT country is like the lowland toward which all streams flow. It is the Reservoir of all under heaven, the Feminine of the world.
The Feminine always conquers the Masculine by her quietness, by lowering herself through her quietness.
Hence, if a great country can lower itself before a small country, it will win over the small country; and if a small country can lower itself before a great country, it will win over the great country. The one wins by stooping; the other, by remaining low.
What a great country wants is simply to embrace more people; and what a small country wants is simply to come to serve its patron. Thus, each gets what it wants. But it behooves a great country to lower itself.

    News and Notes

By now, the Warrior Pages should have completed it's change to a new server. Hopefully your response is: "huh, I never noticed," instead of "oh, that's what happened." If you do experience any dead links or missing content, please let us know and we will fix it right away. You can contact us by email or on the forum.

Our biggest concern was the transfer of the forum intact. This appears to have been successful, but there is a chance items posted during the change over may be missing. We apologize if this happened to you.

We've taken the change as an opportunity to redesign the Warrior Pages Store. We've upgraded the security and will soon be expanding the products lines. Thank you for your patience, and get ready, there will be much more to come.
